The Pastoral Ministry Major program of study is specifically designed to equip and train students for the full range of pastoral ministry. It includes comprehensive training for those preparing for senior, solo, associate, or assistant pastoral positions.

In this program, you will experience:

advanced practical ministry preparation,
mentoring by effective senior pastors, and
an intellectually challenging academic curriculum.

What will the Pastoral Ministry Major program of study prepare me to do?
In successfully completing the requirements of this program, you will be prepared to minister effectively as a solo, staff, and some day a senior pastor.
What are some of the specific areas in which I will be trained?
Through study of the Bible and theology, preparation for preaching, and practical pastoral experiences, you will be prepared to effectively and convictionally communicate the Word of God leading to God-honoring life-change. You will also learn how to effectively lead a dynamic and growing congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission through training in evangelism, leadership, church growth principles, and church administration.
What else will my training include?
In addition to Bible and theology, you will also study such subjects as history, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. These will help you better understand people and the culture in which you will minister.

Pastoral Ministry at Bethany is unique in several ways:

You will be exposed to a number of effective pastors and other church leaders as they visit campus to preach in chapel and share in the classrooms.
You will not only learn the theory behind the work of ministry, you will learn how to do the work of ministry such as leading in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and conducting weddings, baptisms, funerals, and board meetings.
You will have an opportunity to take advanced courses in preaching.
You will be able to choose from a broad selection of ministry courses to achieve an advanced level of preparation
You will be mentored by a Program Director who has been used by God to see churches grow dramatically, a man who has a huge heart to invest in the next generation of men and women who are preparing for Pastoral Ministry.
