AJ Thomas is the founding pastor of Deep Water, a two year old church plant in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Deep Water seeks to be a church that makes sense to people with no meaningful church background. They are passionate about making disciples from scratch, following Jesus in community, and having fun while they are at it. AJ grew up in Sussex on the campus of BBC, and after graduating in 2000 spent several years as a youth and worship pastor.  He loves to travel and talk to people about following Jesus.  

AJ lives in (and loves) Halifax, NS, with his wife Kelly, his two sons Micah and Isaac, and their kitty Princess Sophie von Fuzzybuttons.  His interests include acoustic guitars (he likes to smell them), LOST (aka his other religion), and cheeseburgers.  He believes that God has a special blessing for those who bring him cheeseburgers.  His disinterests include coffee (horrible childhood incident), Twitter (just doesn't get it), and texting, but despite this he still likes to think he is at least sort of cool.
